Grass Grade 

The HSOB-Burnside Grass men are a long-standing team and the current 2022 Grass Champions.

Grass Grade is still an extremely valuable asset for Canterbury Hockey. Many of the more senior players have played on the Grass since the 1980s, and some only recently retired players at HSOB Burnside date their playing days back to the mid-1970s. Many of the Master's fraternity (55’s +) use the Grass season to maintain their skills and fitness over the winter.

The Grass fraternity is very social off the field – just about all the players in all teams know each other and there is a lot of sideline chat and banter during games.
